The Amazon is Burning is a lenticular art print by photographer, printmaker and digital artist Luz Perez-Ojeda. Her style draws from photography, digital art, typography, printmaking, and pop art collage, and in this piece they blend into a traditional lenticular double-portrait image contemplating our exploitation of the rainforest.
“As many people, I‘m shocked and upset about the slow and continuous destruction of 'the lungs of Earth'; the Amazon. Not only because I was born in that region of the World but as a human being it hurts to witness the destruction of Mother Earth’s rainforests and the vast array of wildlife to which it is home. The crying and suffering woman in this artwork is the allegory of the bruised Amazonas.”
Printed at our Kent art gallery and store on the edge of London, using UV inks on premium lenticular lenses, every one of our original art prints is professionally box framed with UV filtering, anti-reflective glass, and arrives ready to hang.
