Artwork Description
In SolarPsychedelic, Gered Mankowitz reimagines a lenticular art print version of his iconic photographic portrait of Jimi Hendrix. Layering false-colour graphics and solarised-effect coloured versions of the print over each other, creating a lenticular animation of changing colours reminiscent of the pop art and hippy psychedelic art of the time.
The original portrait was used as the album cover for Hendrix's album The Ultimate Experience, shot at Mankowitz's London studio in 1967 it is now included as part of the National Art Gallery Photographic Collection. This striking special edition lenticular version of the classic photography print animates through the layers of colour as you pass by the art print on the wall.
Size at 90cm x 60cm this print is also available through our online gallery in a larger size, both are professionally printed at our own Kent art gallery, using UV inks on premium PETG lenticular lenses. Each print is finished with a box frame fitted with anti-reflective UV glass.
As with all photography art prints sold through The Lenticular Art Gallery, proof of ownership and authenticity are both registered through the Tagsmart registrar, and blockchain registration is also available.
