Artwork Description
Gered Mankowitz's Velvet and Lace art print features two of his black and white photography portraits of Jimi Hendrix, taken from an early 1967 shoot at Mankowitz's London studio which resulted in several iconic portraits of the legendary musician.
Re-imagined for the lenticular portrait form, a 3-dimensional effect is created on Hendrix, so the viewer experiences the illusion of walking around the musician as they pass the art print. The two photographs used are quite rarely seen images from this shoot, with others most often reproduced as photographic prints or album covers, but they work perfectly for this new, 3D original art print.
We offer lenticular art prints of Velvet and Lace to buy in two sizes; this is the larger, 180cm x 120cm print, produced at our Kent art gallery on the edge of London, from UV inks on premium lenticular lenses, professionally mounted in a box frame with UV anti-reflective glass.
For the assurance of art collectors these special edition original artworks are provided from our gallery shop with proof of authenticity and ownership registered through the Tagsmart art registrar, and blockchain registration is also available.
